Workshop: SEO Fundamentals – Getting found online

 

Course Aims

The workshop will give you a clear understanding of what SEO is (and what it isn’t); how search engines work and how you can use that knowledge to improve your search rankings, increase your web traffic, improve the relevance of that traffic and ultimately increase online revenue and conversions.

Who should attend and why you will benefit

Anyone for whom SEO forms any part of their role will benefit by attending.

You will leave with a list of things to check and improve on your site; or with some solid questions to ask your digital/SEO agency; or a list of discussion items to talk through your content/development/digital team.

Content

Almost every website has Google Analytics set-up – but often it’s poorly configured. We’ll start with some tips on how to clean-up and improve this set-up to better measure the impact of your digital marketing efforts. “If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.”
We’ll then go through some SEO fundamentals: what is it; what isn’t it and why does it matter anyway? We’ll cover the basics of how search engines work – and how that impacts your business. And – with that understanding – what you can do to get more organic traffic.
The workshop will cover the three main planks of SEO: technical, on-page and off-page. It will cover the differences between these areas and what, how and when you can improve your site in this areas.
We’ll leave you with some tips, tools and advice to take back to the office and try for yourself – including some special templates and dashboards you can copy and get up and running with that same day.

  • An introduction to keyword research
