The Leeds Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Leeds to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in 'listen' not 'sell' mode 🙂

We’re back in the lovely Glean offices for this one. We just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.

Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.

Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.

TMM Leeds Lightning Talks

This June we are switching things up at The Marketing Meetup IRL: Leeds, introducing our first ever lightning talks session!

We are basing this event on the Pecha Kucha style of talks, where the speaker has 20 slides that are displayed for 20 seconds each. This fast-paced style of presenting encourages our speakers to be creative and concise, although I’m sure we will be a little more lenient for our first event.

We have four brilliant speakers joining us for this event, including:

Jim Ker: Jim is an awarding-winning Chartered Marketer with experience across a range of sectors. He is Head of Marketing at Abraham Moon, a long-established and world-renowned fabric manufacturer serving some of the biggest fashion brands.  Moon has been around for over 185 years. Its history is fascinating, but the challenge of presenting this brand in a way that offers a business as a forward-thinking company and not a museum has its unique blend of trials and trepidations.
Jim shares his experiences with us in his talk, "Out with the old, in with the old?" - How to position a modern brand in a company over 185 years old.

Jacob Goodwin: No matter your audience, compelling content is king. Without it, emerging brands will struggle to cut through whilst established, household names become distant and unrelatable.
As marketers, we know the intrinsic value of content, whether the purpose is to build a brand or generate demand. Yet too often, content falls down the list of priorities, with minimal planning leaving the approach to be reactive at best. In this talk, Jacob will walk us through the simple steps of how to create your ideal world content strategy using the framework he has implemented over my first few months at The Data Shed.

Abigail Chloe Baldwin: We know first-hand the strength a brand can provide. By building a brand, we were able to wear our heart on our sleeves and build our community! Buttercrumble acted as a pseudonym. It was our shield and castle. We'd love to share five quick wins on how to create a meaningful brand that nurtures fans.
Buttercrumble is an award-winning creative studio founded by (twin sisters) Abigail and Chloe Baldwin who revel in using their imagination. They show how beauty, play and functionality can exist in harmony through design and illustration.

Join us and our incredible The Marketing Meetup Leeds community, for an insightful, action-packed evening!

We of course understand that these are tough times, so if you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the minimum donation amount of £1, please reach out to and we’ll find a ticket for you (provided capacity hasn't already been reached!) 🙂

Please let your marketing friends and colleagues know about this group too, I hope to build it into a great resource for the community over the coming months and years. Attendance will be taken at this event. If you RSVP 'Yes' and then do not come, you will receive a strike. Three strikes and you're outta here! This is simply a measure to allow appropriate respect to the organisers, speakers, sponsors, and your fellow community members.

See you there!
