The Leeds Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Leeds to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in 'listen' not 'sell' mode 🙂
We’re back in the lovely Glean offices for this one. We just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.
Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people in a chilled out friendly space. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.
Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.

Speaker: Jorun Bork, SEO Account Manager at GIMO
Topic: The Evolution of Search and AI’s Impact on SEO
Are human SEOs still a thing, or if we’ve all been consumed by AI overlords? More so, are humans still searching for content on Google? Or have robots taken over?
The recent technological advancements of AI and the search landscape as a whole leave many wondering what the future may hold, and whether SEO is still a skill digital marketers should master. Truth is, SEO has had to adapt many times as algorithms and technology keep becoming more sophisticated. Considering what SEO used to be 10 years ago, it’s clear that what worked yesterday might not work tomorrow.
Previously SEOs used techniques like ‘keyword stuffing’ to gain those rankings, but as Google became more focused on delivering a quality user experience, this technique stopped working. Instead, SEOs who followed the E-A-T (now E-E-A-T) guidelines (when they were launched) saw success where others saw losses. With AI, user experience is now taken to a whole new level – the most important point to be aware of. This and the fact that not everyone uses Google anymore. Platforms like TikTok and Amazon increasingly gain larger proportions of the search landscape.
Subsequently, the future of search is all about knowing your customers and how to serve them. Know how to serve them, and SEO will serve you.
Key talking points we will cover include:
- SEO is not dead (yet). The key is understanding the present and how to adapt.
- The search landscape is no longer fully focused on Google; users now also look up queries on TikTok or Amazon
- Knowing your customer and making your strategies serve them, is the key to ensure that your SEO keeps thriving
Join us for an insightful evening of search marketing discussion, pizza, free-flowing drinks and a bunch of positively lovely, local marketers.
