The Reading Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Reading to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in 'listen' not 'sell' mode 🙂
We're in Reading for the very first time, at the awesome Dog House offices in Friar St 🙂 We just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.
Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people in a chilled out, friendly space. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.
Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.
Speaker: Louisa Dunbar, Founder of OrangeGrove, the Neuro UX Research Agency
Topic: All websites are wrong. This is why
With every website seemingly doing the same thing with the same old messages, Louisa is here to tell you it doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, it shouldn’t!
We’ll explore exactly where websites are going wrong, and how society has arrived at this point, but also how to embrace a different way of doing things designed to set your business apart.
In such a competitive world, standing out is vital. You can’t do that by tweaking web pages or designs here and there. Changes need to be bigger than that - strategic, starting at a human-level, backed by neuroscience.
Expect a mindset shift like you’ve never experienced, and tools to take back to your teams so you can approach not only your website, but sales and marketing, in a completely new and revolutionary light.
If embraced, expect to increase website engagement, conversions and brand advocacy through an improved customer experience.
The format of the night:
6.00 PM - Doors open - drinks, networking, and smiles
6.30 PM - Introduction and talks begin
7.15 PM - Talks finish, networking, listening, saying hello, and positively lovely people - a nice chilled out time 🙂
8:00 PM - End of the night - you leave with new contacts and fresh ideas
This is a donation ticketed event, with a suggested ticket price of £5-£15.
We of course understand that these are tough times, so if you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the minimum donation amount, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll find a ticket for you (provided capacity hasn't already been reached!) 🙂
Please let your marketing friends and colleagues know about this group too, we hope to build it into a great resource for the community over the coming months and years. Attendance will be taken at this event. If you RSVP 'Yes' and then do not come, you will receive a strike. Three strikes and you're outta here! This is simply a measure to allow appropriate respect to the organisers, speakers, sponsors, and your fellow community members 🙂
See you there!
