The Buckinghamshire Marketing Meetup is an informal, friendly place for the marketers of Buckinghamshire to meet, learn, and share knowledge with one another. Come in 'listen' not 'sell' mode 🙂

We'll be back at the lovely Patch for this one, and we just want to get together, say hello, have a chat, and have a nice time.

Think of this as a community event, where the focus is very much on you meeting other people in a chilled out friendly space. We’ll chat over food and drink, listen to an inspirational speaker or two, chat some more, and go home buzzing with new contacts and new ideas.

Let’s have a lovely night in the company of some amazin’ people.

Speaker: Max Stricker, Founder & Director at Ortum Consulting
Topic: Everyone is focussing on maximising attention. Don't do it!

Most marketers are chasing attention. But what if that’s the wrong goal?

At this edition of The Marketing Meetup Buckinghamshire (TMM IRL Bucks), we’re delighted to welcome Max Stricker, Founder and Director of Ortum Consulting, for a thought-provoking and practical talk on building stronger brands - not by grabbing attention, but by creating the right associations when you have it.

Max’s talk, “Everyone is focusing on maximising attention. Don’t do it,” introduces the concept of Associative Attention. This science-backed framework combines how attention works with what happens in people’s minds afterwards.

It’s an innovative, strategic way to build memory structures and meaning around your brand, making you memorable for the right reasons.

What you’ll learn:

- Why focusing on attention alone is a flawed approach
- The neuroscience and marketing science behind Associative Attention
- How to apply the framework to build a stronger brand
- Common pitfalls to avoid when planning your brand activity
- Plus: a free brand audit using the Associative Attention tool

This event is ideal for marketers, founders, brand managers, and business owners who want to go beyond the basics and explore a more effective way to create long-term impact.

As ever, there’ll be time before and after the talk for relaxed, informal networking with the friendliest marketing crowd in Bucks. Plus plenty of pizza (gluten-free and Vegan available!) and free drinks.

Come along for a great evening of ideas, insight, and conversation.

Please let your marketing friends and colleagues know about this group too, we hope to build it into a great resource for the community over the coming months and years. Attendance will be taken at this event. If you sign up but don’t show up, this has a knock on effect on event arrangements. If it happens 3 times, you’re outta here!
