Chris from Wistia will be in #hotline for two hours, answering your video questions live. It’s open to anyone with a video question, whether you’ve done the School of Video or not.

How it works:

  • Post your question in #hotline from Monday 2 November, one question per thread.
  • On Tuesday, Chris replies to each one and tags you in your thread.
  • You don’t need to be online for the full two hours. Post it and come back later.

What to ask about:

  • Filming and setup: phone, webcam, lighting, sound, and getting comfortable on camera
  • Scripts and planning: writing for the ear, using AI for a first draft, deciding what a video is for
  • Where videos live: your website, YouTube, embedding, and getting found in search and AI search
  • Turning viewers into leads: forms, calls to action, and what to put at the end of a video
  • Webinars: planning, running, promoting, following up, and what to do with the replay
  • Editing, including AI tools that save time
  • Metrics: which numbers matter, how to read an engagement graph, and what a good result looks like
  • Repurposing one video into clips, posts, and emails
  • Video on social and YouTube, and how to use them with your own site
  • Video in your marketing automation

Example questions:

  • “I’m a team of one with a phone and a window and not much confidence. Where do I start?”
  • “Our webinar attendance is around 30%. Is that normal, and what would move it?”
  • “How do I cut clips from a long recording without losing an entire afternoon?”
  • “Should I put my videos on YouTube, my website, or both?”
  • “Where in a video should a lead gen form go?”
  • “How do I stop my videos feeling stiff when I’m reading a script?”
